About Me
Hi, I’m Yassmin Alshalabi, and my journey with diabetes began at the age of five. Being diagnosed so young was challenging, but it planted the seeds for a life of resilience, faith, and purpose.
As a child, I dreamt of becoming an architect, imagining the incredible design possibilities. But Allah had a different plan for me. He guided me toward studying nutrition—a path I hadn’t expected but one that turned out to be a perfect fit. It allowed me to understand my own body better, help others navigate their journeys with diabetes, and realize the power of nourishment in shaping health and well-being.
Allah also guided me to embrace movement and strength. Becoming a yoga instructor was not just about flexibility or fitness—it was a reminder that people with type 1 diabetes can be athletes, move their bodies, and achieve physical goals they never thought possible. This realization transformed the way I approached life with diabetes, and I strive to share this empowerment with others.
I wouldn’t be where I am today without the constant support of Allah and my family. They are my greatest cheerleaders and the foundation of my strength. Their love and belief in me inspire everything I do, including creating this space to support others.
I’m so grateful for the journey that brought you here. Together, we can make diabetes a part of your life—not the whole of it.
